Bonfire Boy: A dark amber beer with a full malty palate. Slightly burnt, bitter aftertaste, and a superbly smoky flavour. A staple of Bonfire Night festivities.
Origins: Originally brewed to commemorate the gallant work of the Fire Brigade during the fire at the brewery in July 1996 and was originally called ‘Firecracker’. We now brew this for the Lewes Bonfire Celebrations each year. Bonfire Boy is an Amber Ale brewed to an original gravity of 1066 – abv 5.8 %. Highly roasted Malts are used during the production of this beer to give a slightly burnt quality and a hint of smoke.
